Finding information in grids

To find information in a grid:

  1. Right-click in a grid to display the grid menu.
  2. Click Find on the grid menu.
  3. In the Grid Find dialog box, choose the scope of your search by selecting either Current Column or Entire Grid.
  4. In the Search For cell, type the text string you want to find.
  5. Click Find Next to find the next occurrence of the text string.

Note: The grid on the Takeoff Details tab is unique among Sage 100 Contractor grids. It provides more menu options, and therefore more functionality than the grids on other windows and tabs. For information about finding information on the Takeoff Detail tab, see Searching the Takeoff Details Grid

Tip: You can sort most grids that you use a button in a primary window to open. (The grid then opens in a secondary window.) Select the header for the column you want to sort on, and then click the Sort by option. For example, you can sort open invoices, paid invoices, and subcontractors in the 4-4 Vendors window. You can also sort grids by name on columns that have a combined number and name.
